Police concerns over cuts

“When you’ve closed the police stations, sold your vehicles, the senior managers have gone, a third of your police staff have gone, what else is to go other than your front line policing?”  Chief Constable Tony Melville.

With Gloucestershire Police taking the unusual step of speaking out over their concerns relating to the Police cuts it is more important than ever to ensure that your business security arrangements are as good as they can be. Business crime is relatively low in Gloucestershire with the Police neighbourhood teams having done some excellent work in recent times to lower the crime rate. However, now is not the time to be complacent! Your alarm systems are only as good as the response it gets.NSGL limited will despatch a Security dog and handler team to your premises in response to your alarm. The presence of a trained dog or the the threat of one is a very effective deterrent. Our response is no more expensive than the standard response of a lone Security officer! Fully trained, fully insured protect your business give us a call!!

CURRENT UK THREAT LEVEL – Substantial

What are threat levels?

The system of threat levels has been created to keep you informed about the level of threat the UK faces from terrorism at any given time.

This system helps police and other law enforcement agencies decide how to allocate staff. The threat level represents the likelihood of an attack in the near future. More about the UK threat level system (Opens in a new window) on the MI5 website.

The five levels are:

  • critical – an attack is expected imminently
  • severe – an attack is highly likely
  • substantial – an attack is a strong possibility
  • moderate – an attack is possible but not likely
  • low – an attack is unlikely
